History of Western Esoteric Systems

The Level I Master's Degree in History of Western Esoteric Systems, is designed and developed as an advanced program of historical studies on Western esotericism that assumes previous familiarity with the humanities and humanities. It is recommended for students interested in topics in history, culture and society. The history of Western esoteric currents is a complex and definitely intellectually stimulating area of study. Students, as indeed has been the case with all researchers in the field of esoteric history, will have the opportunity to reconsider aspects and themes taken for granted by the humanities, as well as religious and historical-political ones, offering new perspectives on our history and culture. In the magnum sea of esotericism, a broad view is needed that traces its history, characters, symbols, organizations, initiatory rituality, disciplines, thought-understood as Traditional-and its procedure by analogy. This program provides academic training for graduate students in the humanities and humanities disciplines.

Content

This program offers the student the opportunity to:

- Analyze the characters and events that have shaped the history of Spiritism,

Metapsychics, Parapsychology, Theosophy, Anthroposophy, Freemasonry, Alchemy, Hermeticism,

Magic and how these have defined the esoteric and occultist environment to the present day.

- Students are taught to study, work and think as academic researchers

- Understand how certain doctrines have changed the mental approach to the

religious and spiritual in Western society.

- Recognize the links of esotericism with science, religion, art and politics.

- Perceive, recognize and be able to read symbology, developing or improving

critical and analogical thinking.

- Learning about the main disciplines of the psychic sciences in order to study them

in depth and employ these skills to carry out analyses of a historical,

philosophical and sociological.

- Understand how esoteric currents and magic, although rejected by the

major Western religious and academic institutions - guilty centuries ago of having

robbed of hegemony in Western cultural and intellectual history-, have never

disappeared and continue to operate and influence society and humanity.

- Work in publishing on topics related to esotericism, occultism and holism.

- Organize events and conferences on topics related to esotericism and the holistic field.

- To continue academic studies and research in national and international fields.

- To operate as an expert librarian on the subject of esotericism.

- Working in the third sector: cultural associations.

- Opening a study center in the esoteric field.

Admission requirements, examinations and final exam.

Applicants possessing a High School Diploma and a Bachelor's Degree, Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree, Master's Degree or Old Degree are eligible to apply. In the absence of the required qualifications, admission on dossier is possible, based on an evaluation of the qualifications obtained and the experience acquired, as well as the skills developed within the framework of professional activity.

Lectures will be delivered at the discretion of the Lecturer through term papers, commentaries,

specialized textbooks, handouts or lectures via live streaming platform. Evaluation is expressed in thirtieths.

The final examination consists of a Thesis of at least 30 pages on one of the topics covered

during the Level I Master's program.

M-STO/06 - The Traditional Initiatic Orders - Freemasonry: esoteric symbolism - 10 ECTS

M-STO/06 - Tarology and the initiatory path of the Tarot - 10 ECTS

Final Thesis - 4 ECTS
