The Casting Director's Studio among the New Trades of Communication

This course offers a specific and also practical approach to what is the job of the Casting Director, that is, the person who, together with the director, broadcast and producer, is in charge of finding the right faces for the television and film product.

Content

At the end of the course, the student will be able to understand the strategies behind which an important figure such as the Casting Director operates and also what are the trends, tastes and editorial lines that are needed to do the aforementioned job the best.

Admission requirements, examinations and final test

Applicants possessing a High School Diploma and a Bachelor's Degree or a Master's Degree, Master's Degree, or Old Degree are eligible to apply. In the absence of the required qualifications, admission on dossier is possible, based on an evaluation of the qualifications obtained and the experience acquired, as well as the skills developed within the framework of professional activity.

 

Lectures will be delivered at the discretion of the Lecturer through term papers, commentaries, specialized manuals, handouts or lectures via live streaming platform. Evaluation is expressed in thirtieths.

 

The final examination consists of written paper.

 

Program

What is involved in Casting

Study of the editorial lines of productions and broadcasts

Study of scripts on which to contribute work

Knowledge of the various types of acting

Knowledge of the partitions of roles to be cast

Knowledge of the largest pool of actors and agencies

Knowledge of the tools for getting the job done such as the Cast List

Knowledge of audition/audition arrangements

Study of the call back

Study of what the various faces of points are and their value

Study of the bureaucracy regarding the work of the Casting Director

History of the figure of the Casting Director

Knowledge of how to operate in synergy with productions
